We’d love it if you could join us on our church weekend away!

What?

We’ll spend a weekend together, learning from God’s word, hanging out, and eating good food. There will be games, archery, a walk, evening entertainment – including a camp fire – and a chance to go in the outdoor pool. It’s suitable for all ages, and you can take it at a pace that suits you – whether that’s haring around in the woods, or sneaking off for a nap or cream tea!

Why?

It’s a great chance to spend unhurried time together as a church family – something we’ve been sorely missing! Jesus calls us to love each other deeply, and going away together is a great way to grow closer, whether that’s whilst eating breakfast, throwing a frisbee around, learning from His word, praying together or laughing round a camp fire.

As we begin a new chapter in the life of the church, Paul and Brian will be reminding us of our mission and focus as God’s people during our formal times together. There will be a separate children’s programme during our morning meetings.

FAQs

What about COVID? What if we go into lockdown again?

We are planning for the weekend to be as normal as possible, whilst keeping to government guidance! We simply don’t know yet what restrictions may be in place, or how they will affect the weekend – but will keep you informed. We will get a full refund if the weekend has to be cancelled.

I’d like to come, but don’t feel I can afford the full amount?

We’d love as many people as possible to be there, and don’t want the cost to get in the way. So if this is you, please drop a note in the booking form, and as a church we’d be glad to help out with the cost.

What if I’m new or don’t know many people?

Coming on the weekend away is a brilliant way to get to know people and feel settled and part of the church.

Will I have to share a room?

A chunk of the accommodation is in dormitories and we will need to use this space. If the prospect of sharing a room is a big concern, please do mention it in the comments on the booking form, and we’ll do our best to be accommodating.

Will the weekend leave me exhausted?

It can be a tiring weekend, but the sacrifice is worth it! There will be plenty of time to slow down or slip away if you need to.

What should I do now?

  • Block out your diary! 17-19th September.
  • Fill in the booking form (below).
  • Pray! That this weekend can go ahead, and that we will grow closer to Jesus and closer to each other through it!
